Positioning Yourself to Receive - Part Two
It is God's Will for All to be Healed

It is difficult for people to receive from God when they are unsure of His will to heal.  We must receive by faith.  But how can we trust God to come through for us if we do not know what His desire is for us?  The only way that we will possess the confidence we need is if we know what God's Word says concerning what we desire to receive from Him.

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."  (Hebrews 11:6)

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."  (Romans 10:17)

"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."  (1 John 5:14-15)

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.  The written Word of God is His revealed will for us.  If we ask according to His Word then we know He hears us and we can have confidence that we are rewarded with healing.  You must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder.  You cannot believe that He was a healer (or provider), but that He is a healer.

An examination of God's Word clearly reveals that it is His will for all to be healed.

1)  Anyone who ate of the Passover Lamb was physically healed.

"He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes."  (Psalms 105:37)  There were none feeble because all were healed.

Before the exodus from Egypt, the people of Israel were instructed to sacrifice a lamb without blemish and put the blood on the door posts and eat the flesh roasted by fire
(Exodus 12:5-13).  They were "all" healed when they ate of that Passover lamb.  Jesus Christ said that His body was broken for us and we are to symbolically eat His flesh for our healing (1 Corinthians 11:24; John 6:51-56).  Many are weak and sickly, and many have died because they do not rightly discern the Lord's body (1 Corinthians 11:29-30).

"...For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us."  (1 Corinthians 5:7)

2)  Everyone who looked at the Brazen Serpent was physically healed.

"So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived."  (Numbers 21:9)

The people were being bitten by fiery serpents because they were speaking against God and Moses.  Many of the Israelites died.  But Moses prayed for the people and the Lord told him to make a serpent of bronze and set it on a pole.  Everyone that was bitten was healed when they looked at it.  It was not limited to some.  Healing was available to anyone.

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up..."  (John 3:14)

3)  The actions of Jesus reveal the will of God to heal all who are sick.

Jesus is the very image of God's nature
(Hebrews 1:1-3).  Everywhere He went people were physically healed.  God clearly revealed His will to heal through the works of Jesus.

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."  (Acts 10:38)

"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people."  (Matthew 4:23)

"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed.  And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick..."  (Matthew 8:16)

"Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people."  (Matthew 9:35)

"And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick."  (Matthew 14:14)

Okay, so far we have seen that we can trust God to heal us because anyone who ate of the Passover Lamb was healed, everyone who looked at the Brazen Serpent was physically healed, and Jesus showed us the Father's will to heal by the works He did in healing all that were oppressed of the devil.  We will examine more in our next article on the Lord's commission to others to heal the sick.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases."

Psalms 103:2-3
